Anyone know if this museum is officially closed or is it still open?

99 % of the museum original collection was removed about 2 years ago- I know I helped to do it. The museum was reopened with a quickly thrown together new set of exhibits many with no provenence to the battle of Normandy. I have been told that the refurbed museum is dissappointing but I have not been there myself so I will leave it to others to make an opinion. The very large exhibits (tanks etc remain) The old exhibits should make an appearance in a new museum that is planned to open at Lounges sur mer next to the battery- this will be the "D-Day Academy" a project that I am lucky enough to be involved in.

I can approve that the museum in Bayeux is quite disappointing. I actually expected more from it due to many recommendations. I visited that museum in September 2006. At this time i didnt know that they had removed its original collection.
