anyone know any good guided tours for Nuernberg?

Hi Guys, I have been going to Nuernberg on business for a good number of years and of course I have seen the old RPT area and driven past the Zeppelin field, stayed at the Hotel Deutscher Hof and so on... but I have only ever seen these places in passing as I was always their on business and well, concentrated on doing business and nothing much else really...I will in Nuernberg again for a week in March...and this time I want to also do something cultural while I am there....

Could anyone recommend a guided tour in Nuernberg to see and have explained the old RPT areas and remaining TR buildings in Nuernberg? Ideally of course, a tour that you have been on yourself...I would not mind if the tour was in German or in English and I would not mind if it was to take all day...

    Cheers, Torsten.

You might Contact Geoff Walden at http://www.thirdreichruins.com/nuernberg.htm

He sometimes does tours or can point you to ones.

        Hi Torsten,

Actually, he lives in the States now, as do I.

I'll look at home tonight - there's a local historical group in Nürnberg that has published a book about the Reichsparteitag area, and I think they do tours. I'll see if I can find the contact info.

        Best,
        Greg

            Hi Torsten,

This is the book, the contact info is:
            Geschichte für Alle e.V.
            Wiesenthalstr 32
            90419 Nürnberg

            Tel. 0911 33 27 35

I bought the book in the Documentation Center that used to be in the Zeppelintribüne, but now the Documentation Center is in the Kongresshalle. Maybe that staff does tours, too. http://www.museen.nuernberg.de/dokuz...allgemein.html

            Have fun!

Hi Greg, I will give them a ring and see what they have to say or I might just get myself the book prior to going again in March and do my own tour? I have already laid out my schedule for the week that I am there and I have given myself all of the Friday off ...

Sinc I will be at the Nuernberg Exhibition Centre for most of the week I am already on the old RPT area anyhow ... Cheers, Torsten.
