What a shame that a building was done there...= people who dont respect historical places.
I wish there was a wealthy man that could take in charge the operation of bringing back to life the bunker, and making it a museum, but im sure it wont happen

I visited the site of the Fuhrerbunker during September this year and there was no visible plaque to the Goebels children in sight. The only official recognition of the site even housing the bunker below the surface is a large plaque/information board showing a map layout and some general info on the bunker.

Incidently, our bus driver asked when we sat back on the bus what we had been looking at and was amazed when we told him. He had no idea whatsoever of the site! His face was a picture.

          Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

When the underground garage was found with the chauffeur room with the wall mural, people wanted it destroyed and buried. Then when a group succeeded in getting signs put up around the Fuhrerbunker to point to where it was and provide historical information about it, another group said derogatory things about it because it was near their memorial. I think we all know what groups I'm referring to. They're just out to make MONEY on the sufferings of others.

Were these murals preserved? are there pics around of them?
I saw some years ago when they were found

New photos taken on 27 Dec.

First shot made from the Ebertstrasse looking down Voßstrasse toward the intersection with the Wilhelmstrasse. The site of the former Kanzlei would have been on the left of course...

This is a photo of the "children's playground" referred to in a post above, and is the approximate location of the former bunker exit and is believed to be the in the general vicinity of where the burning of Mr and Mrs Hitler's bodies was attempted.

If there are any markers there I sure did not see them last week. Maybe I missed them!

                                No Marker

I was last in berlin in 2004 and went to the site and their was no marker around the site. I was told that the german government didn't want the site marked because they were afraid of neo-nazi celebrations there. A side note those appts are over a million each and the model/skater katatrina witt lives there.
