I believe it's back personal believe, you get what you pay for. And for something that's repro, I don't mind chinese, it's 1/3 of what LB is charging, because "how close" you get, you'll just never there(100% copy). I would rather spend the left over cash on a real deal. And you got to thank ebay and globalization for that, otherwise, we'll be paying $400-500 for a fake, I mean repro.

Yeah, I found that even the venerable Sturm brand which used to have "Made in Germany" tags is really made in China. ATF and Hessen Antique sell this brand. After buying my uniform though, the quality is very good and hook holes, etc are correct.

I't been a long time since I bought any reenactor gear, but when i was active in the hobby, I was usually happy with the stuff I bought from At The Front and Bill Bureau.
For British stuff, my favorite source was Jerry Lee/What Price Glory.

The skirt on the Chinese field blouses (including Sturm) is much too long. There is too much distance between the upper and lower pockets. If you put two reenactors side by side, one with a LB blouse and one with a Chinese-made one, the difference is immediately obvious. The reason for this is that the Chinese blouse is cut like an American suit jacket, not like a real Feldbluse. If you are a reenactor who cares about authenticity, Chinese will not do.

Not to get too far of topic but is there a maker of quality unifroms that makes a long tunic? I have a LB tunic that is just too short, even according to their tunic sizing info.

If you want an good Fliegerbluse, take the Sturm. If you want an excellent Fliegerbluse take the Richard Underwood Fliegerbluse.

If I may choose between the Sturm and the zeugmeisterei Wehrmacht tunics, I would take zeugmeisterei.

                  Hi Jurgen

A few years ago I went to the big battle at FIG in PA. You can find just about every dealer you want there. I was looking for a new uniform and the first thing I looked at was Janke. I was very disappointed. The quality has gone way down since my first purchase 10 years ago. The fabric is sub-par. I looked at an M-36 and there are no provisions for internal suspenders. His M-36 had the belt hook straps sewn in above the holes like a M-43! I was very happy with the LB uniforms.

The other fellow is right, uniforms out of Hong Kong are way too long. The proportions are way off. He is using a suit jacket pattern. I have seen new uniforms from him and they are still too long. As another fellow has said, original photos show clearly that the jacket skirt should extend very little beyond the cufffs. A German tunic is not supposed to look like a sports jacket with insignia on it. As others have written, it really depends upon how accurate you wish to look. I may not get to 100%, but it does not mean I won't try.

Hong Kong Keith does have some nice reproduction Patronentasche.
