    I am sure those tanks have seem better days. Why do I have the feeling that this is not the only place in the world like this.

      Probably isn't. I have friends who say the Sinai looks at lot like that from the various Israeli/Arab wars. I imagine much of Europe looked that way in May of 45.

                  All Ak's

                  Johnnie in hta post number 11 everyone seems to have an ak,is this real or they got some off the locals,and where these supplied by who?,like no one wanted i thinks its a M4/M16 or thats the best assault rifle to ahve there?,thanks.

                    Actually, up untill recently, those were the weapons we carried. We just now got a few M-4's. In addition to the AK's, (now in backup status) we use a lot of Czech folding stock CZ-58's, which we use as convoy weapons. Some pretty old AK's too. The folder I usually carried was dated 1949. One of the first Russian AK's made. We have a mixed variety of AK-47, and AKM's. It may seem odd carrying these types of weapons guarding the U.S. Embassy, but it's a long story,
