    JPAC Team searching for Bomberpilot Lt. Stanley Dwyer

    I have got the information via local newspaper that a team of americans are
    searching for the remains of the american bomberpilot Lt. Stanley Dwyer and Sgt John Boros which died in a crash landing in Vöstenhof after the B17 was hit by the 8,8 Flak during bombing the city of Wr.Neustadt in austria on 10.Mai 1944.

    Short statistik from the bombing of railway knot of Wr.Neustadt.
    There where 29 airraides where 55000 bombs where used. 88% of the buildings of Wr.Neustadt had been damaged. In Austria 35000 people where killed and 57000 where wounded by allied airraides.

      The JAPC team (Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command) maxim is „Until they're home“.
      The forest where they are searching is the estuary from my friend which is hunter. I informed him about the activities from the team, and of course he already knows . Today we visited the team and i made a few shots with my camera documenting what they are doing and what was found.
      The one big problem is, that one bomb exploded during the crash landing, so they are looking for small remains of bones. Thats why they are sifting the earth square meter for square meter.
      Thats hard work ...
