question about German Reenacting Unit vehicles/ tanks/half-tracks

    Hello,

I am wondering about the vehicles that the German Reenacting Units use for their shows and battles. are this vehicles wartime? or are they replicas? if they are replicas and if the unit uses for example, a tank or half-track, the vehicle already uses their tracks to move or are just simulated? are this made by the members of the units?

Maybe a rare question but I just saw a reenacment unit Half-track that looks so real, looks like if it can work like a real German half-track but was standing still.

I hope I explain myself well!!

    Hi Humberto,
some times a mixture of both are used, also post war built versions such as the Chec OT 10 convertd to halftracks, also Ural M/C combinations to look like BMW`s etc.
Where vehicles are so rare completly modern rero`s are built, see link below.
    cheers.

The Tiger I's in Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers are heavily modified T-34's, which I always find ironic.

                Grüß Gott Kameraden,

Well, we prefer to go the route that most of the German army did, since less than 20 percent of the army was mechanized, and use animals. The Wehrmacht used over 6 million horses and mules during the war. A typical Gebirgsjäger division had between 4,000 to 6,000 animals. Here is our Haflinger, an Austrian mountain horse, "Fancy" with one of my packsaddles and wicker panniers at last weekend's event in Reading, PA:

                Hafi und Muli vor!
