UK pays off last of war debt to USA!

I found this story today - it is just another example of how the very long shadow of the second World war still affects us and also how costly it was in purely economic terms.

Hm, it is an even longer shadow... The Bulgarian tobacco company - Bulgartabak - belongs to the State. It was developed in socialist times on the base of the old Bulgarian Tobacco Monopoly. Needless to say, that it is much bigger than the old thing and after so much time it is something completely different

Nowadays the State is trying to handle it into private hands - this was done to all state companies, this is a normall process along the way of the democarcy. This is an important thing to do, because a big territory of the South are poor lands, depending mainly on the tobacco - so it is vital to finish the process of reconstruction in the tobacco production.

However the Russians are messing, they claim that Germany had some shares in the old Tobacco Monopoly, so now, as war reparations, they must bite a part of the tobacco company! What @-holes
