    Interesting memorial

Freedom and the Soviet Union are two words that dont sit together very well

I think there should be a memorial as well to remember the German Landser who had to go through so much on the Eastern Front. Remember too that many of the German POW's never even came home.

anyhow i dont mean to go on

Nice pictures; i too plan on visiting Berlin in about a years time all going to plan.

Fascinating, thanks for posting these! It is sad that there is a monument to the Soviets' sacrifice but nothing like it for the average Wehrmacht joe that left his life in some forsaken frozen corner of the Russian steppe. I hope that as time heals the wounds this will be recognized and honored also without the nazi stigma.

          Hi Frank.

I have been there a couple of times an visited:

Manfred Klar Militaria, Motzstrasse 32 and the shop in the antiquemarket under Friedrichtrasse station (across the road from Universitätsstrasse).

Have a nice trip in Berlin. Remember to have dinner in the tv-tower. Good food while you rotate slowly 207 metres over Berlin.

PS: Maik Koplecks guide to Berlin 1933-45 is really good to have.....

The Reichstag next. Note the queue to get to the viewing dome, If you are planning to view the dome on your trip, my advice is go early morning or early evening once the schools and other tourist's have left!

Hi Ian, thanks for posting these. It is a city I would like to return to. Your pictures brought back memories of my own trip to Berlin in 2005, which can be seen in the association members only forum here:
