    Messerschmidt found in the mountains

    Hi all.

    I found this Me-109 in Finnmark during my army dienst. No one lives there for miles around. Not many knew about this one,but my LT did
    I took these pics with my didicamera from my old pictures. They were taken in juni 1992. Some years ago now but check out the quality of the wreck beeing preserved in the high north.

            I was alone on the hunt for the jager. My LT had only heard about it,no one in the camp had ever seen it. After some houers I thought of returning since no trails was in the mountains. I had my uniform and some food+my cantine but no tent. I decided to walk some hundred meters or so and so return. The weather was so fine and the sun shined bright late cause of so high north. With a small creeck it glimsed a lot and it was not just sun and water. I had found it!

              ..It was shut down by an spit or so was the story. Our camp was beside the old LW airplace. A UK bomber was shut down and crashed some meters from my kaserne. It was only small pices left of it in 92.
              Tirpitz was in Alta fjord and some airfight was caused of that.
              It still is big bomb schrapnels in the pinetrees at Tirpitz old ammo depot at Kåfjord. National guard was there back in 92 and we used the place for infantery exersize. I also found 20mm flak shells there. Not pristine but nice suvenir.

                      What the hell, the complete engine is there .. that wold be a lot of $$$$

                        My first thoughts too, aint too many complete Daimler-Benz engines around these days!!

                          I'd also mention that removing parts of German aircraft wrecks is strictly prohibited in Norway, they all belong to the state.
                          Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
