Zwickau, Germany - April 1945

Greetings Guys!
I have a german flag that was captured in Zwickau, Germany on 16 April, 1945. At least that is what the vet who captured it has penned in along the edge of the flag. Can anyone confirm that the US had troops in this location on that date and if so, what units were there?

I believe 89th Infantry Division captured Zwickau around that time.

EDIT: just looked up in a few sources and they say that 89th captured Zwickau by either 17th or 18th of April. Either date is consistent with your flag.

Thanks for the information. Went back and looked at the flag. It is marked "Zwickau, Germany April 1945"; no date. Other markings are the size (60x90) L/219 Schulzstaffell ?/58. Flag is double sided, printed with the SS eagle in silver, on a background of four triangular shaped areas two of which are black and two of which are white. Has two small holes and sonme age discoloration. Know that this is some kind of SS command flag. Will try to post pics later.
