    Memories of a friend - Restoration of Relics

    I came across some photos that belonged to a Good friend of mine Bill Wilkins. He passed away about four years ago in Germany. He use to do alot of restoration work for the Sinsheim Auto Technik museum when the Military displays were under the care of Richard Eiermann. Here are some photos he took showing items being restored. some had been cut-up. Bill was a Master Metal worker and ex-Texan who retired from the U.S. Army in the 1980's and stayed in Germany.

    First up is a series of photos of a 2cm Gebirgsflak.

                      I am sorry that your friend has died ... he did excellent restauration work

                      The items are really amazing, never saw a 2cm flak like this one before

                          Thanks for your comments. Bill was an amazing guy. Ex-Special forces who served two tours in Vietnam. His initial Military job speciality was Small Arms artificer. He repaired and even made parts for all types of weapons.

                          Here is a photo of him as the driver of his own restored NSU Kettenkrad back in the early 80's (sorry about the quality which is a digital pic of a photo)
