Very cool indeed If this bunker was in my backyard I would restore it for my collection. But, be aware if you are displaying your collection in that bunker.....you must have climatcontrol for the humidity. In the summer it will be real wet at the inside. If you don't have a climatcontrol your stuff will detoriate rapidly (fungus, rust..and so on).

    Greetings,

    Frans

You have a genuine WWII era bunker in your back yard. Uh... How friggn' cool is that?!?

My job brings me to Denmark several times a year, and whenever I can I try to hit the west coast to go bunker hunting. Most are in pretty sad shape, nowhere near as nice as yours.

          Awesome!

You could restore it and then rent it out to reenactors by the week. They wouldn't have to go running around shooting, they would be happy to pull some garrison duty in a real WW2 German bunker. Sort of a mini-theme park for reenactors.

                Wow! Am I envious!
Something I've always dreamed of. Well at least one will get restored the way it should be. Great!

Closest thing we've got around here are the old 1960's vintage air-raid shelters to go with our "duck and cover" educational movies on how to react to a Soviet atomic attack. Most look worse then yours and aren't near as cool!!!!

Bob, for something like that in California you are probably looking at over a million dollars and then some.

Great thread! It would be a must to restore. Also, I don't think you have to worry about your wife filling it up with her things because she will just move you out into the bunker and keep the house for herself.

                      I once flew in a B-17, B-24, & a B-25. Next, I want to fire an 88 round.

If you could somehow locate the bunker LATRINES-you could(likely)excavate some thrown away "relics" to display in your bunker.
I'm serious...Alot of things were tossed away in latrines,as any relic hunter knows.
Maybe a research of German maps of the positions might be possible to find them.

                            hi

                            Hi!

                            Very nice!
We have a flax -battery 100 meters from the house , but to day it lies under a house!
When the summer comes i and some boys form my class shall begin to digg out a bunker complex in a forest 200 meter from my house!
It was blown in a hurry in may 45, i don't think that we will find something but we will be the first to get inside since the germans left!
Maby one day it will be my prviate museum!

I think Rob summed it up best.
                                Anything happen with it?
