    First encounters with Re -enactors.

Saturday week ago I was at a re enactment do at galgorm Manor , Ballymena ( N.Ireland) , first of this type to be held in N.I. since the recent " troubles" eased up.

I was pleased to meet these two gentlemen who " dropped in" they certainly looked the part and knew their onions as regards anything remotely "para".
In contrast to the " Americans" these guys looked like they had slept out for a night or two.

For the life of me I can't recall the name of their "unit" , they did feature in the "Armourer" in the recent past but will that issue "surface" for me , not a mission.
Can anyone can add the details of the England based "Fjs" I would be endebted .

I don't know anything about the groups / "units" which exist in Northern Ireland , if anyone can give details feel free.

    As per Thread.

Another of the Falschirmjagers. The information provided on the shutes alone was amazing and these men actually jump to boot.

        All up.

By this stage of the "Battle" it was all up for the "Jerries" , no tanks and out numbered they fought to the last round.

Hi James, I am certain that the FJ's are members of forum member Bob Seller's FJ Regt 2.

            Cheers, Ade.

              Thanks Ade.

Ade, thank you for that id on these lads. The issue of the "Armourer" I would need is in a box in the roof space - my son has again borrowed the my steps and I am no "Spider man" by any stretch of the imigination so no way of checking up.

I was very impressed by their turn out and knowledge of their subject both very good men to talk to , well impressed.
Have you ever gone "into action against" them ?

Thanks again for the id on the unit.

Hi James, here is the website of the FJ lads:

                http://www.freewebs.com/fjr2/

They are a very good group and are well respected here in the UK. Not fought against them, but I have had a few drinks with them

                Cheers, Ade.

You don't have any pics of the SS Assault gun wrap in the backround of the first pic. I see piped rune tabs...
