    battle of Colmar ( dec.1944 - feb.1945 )

My last trip in Alsace ( East of France )

Between dec 1944 and feb 1945, allied troops tried to liberate the " pocket of Colmar ". three months with cold, wind and snow. At the end, german troops left France and escaped in Germany.
Here are some photos of this area.
    Best regards
    PIERRE

                    Bergheim : german cimetery

5307 german soldiers are burried here. All the graves are head for germany. I notice than very young soldiers were killed during the battle ( 17 / 18 Years old )
