Hi Guys, thank you for all your comments.

Hi Oldflags, I will be heading out to Newark again in October. I know that is a long way off, but I will take some photos for you then. There are several colours laid up in the Church. One is in very, very, poor condition and is now a dirty brown colour and "see through" in many places. I think if it was touched it would fall apart. It is interesting to see how different colours have faired with age.

      Cheers, Ade.

        Regimental Colours

If you want to see colours, check out the church in Boston Lincolnshire (The Boston Stump) which holds the Regimental colours of the 1st Airlanding Regiment Royal Artillery of Arnhem fame. The are as crisp as the day they were laid up in November 1945.

Way to go, Ade. I know these old vets like to know that they are still highly thought of. Each one has a story to tell. What a great weekend that must have been.

I was wondering what the 1stARRA flag looks like as usually UK Artillery units don't have Regimental Colours, but rather just double tapered end multi-panel heraldic design pennants.

OldFlagsWanted

                Hi Ade,

Verry nice to meet the veterans, i think. Its a honour to meet them i can say.
I drove last week a Canadian Para around in Germany and went with him to the zone where he has landed. Together we looked at the places where he has fought and dug in. He rememered it very wel after 60 years i can say!

                Cheers

                  Cheers, Ade.
