I have often thought a great mannequin project would be depicting what a German infantryman might look like had the war continued through 1946. I believe the Type BII stahlhelm would have been put in production circumventing Hitler. The STG44 would be on the way to replacing the Kar98k and Leibermuster would be the universal issue uniform and perhaps even as a helmet cover. There is enough decent quality repro stuff around to create a reasonable example. Just an imaginative thought.

How a Wehrmacht soldier would look in 1946?
Leibermuster jacket and trousers (there were only one type planned, so standard cut)
BII helmet
ankle boots with gaiters
StG 45(M)
two pouches with webbing belt and straps
Gas mask can
bread bag and canteen
As originals I bet for 100k$? The most expensive item will be the StG 45(M) and the original BII, the Leibermuster would be the easiest item...for some money.
Instead of the StG 45 a Fliegerfaust would be an eye catcher...

Yes indeed. 100k might cover it.

Assuming the production levels were kept up on a -44 level, I think that most soldiers would look in -46 as they did in -45. New equipment trickles down fairly slowly.
I think the main difference would be that more synthetic stuff would be used in new production
