Great grandfather... EK1

Hello,

I just thought I would share a picture of my great grandfather Otto.
My Opa suprised me with a shadow box with his EK1 in it from the great war. He went on to serve in WW II as well in a reserve capacity until I was told he was sent to a concentration camp.

I'm trying to track down his records and maybe some of his other medals.

I've served 20 years in the RCAF and Military history is very important to me.

An unteresting family story, I think especially when connected with emigration. Then these stories are like layers from another world. Do you know why your grandfather was sent to a concentration camp? It must have been a hard blow after so much sacrifice for the Fatherland.
