U-Boat Survivor - Hans Fredrick Hanagarth

    Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct forum but I am trying to find some information on my neighbours father, who was on a U-Boat during WW2. I have one photo of him and I believe he wasn't an officer.
He was captured in 1944 and sent to Sudeley castle POW camp (camp no.37) here in England.
He married an english woman (my neighbours mum), who worked at the camp.

Whats the best way of finding out details about him, and what U-Boat he was on etc etc?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

In the U-Boat crew listings I only have this:

    Johann-Friedrich Hanagarth
    Born 02.07.1925
    Personnel number N.41690/43.D
    Pow camp Sudeley Castle Winchcombe.

However your neighbour as family can request his records from the Bundesarchiv:
