A Great American Died Today *Tibor Rubin*

It is truly a sad day as we as a nation have lost a great hero. Tibor Rubin was a Hungarian born Jew who survived the holocaust at Mauthausen Concentration Camp and immigrated to the US in 1948. He joined the US Army and fought in Korea. He was captured and ended up a prisoner of war in China. He was recommended for the Medal of Honor 4 times before finally receiving it in 1995. He was a very humble and brave soldier. I am proud to call him a fellow American.

Great link to a truly great man.
Very emotional story, one of the bravest men I have ever heard about; so humble and full of humour despite being a victim of anti-Semitism in the country he had gone to after WW2 to hopefully escape these atrocities.

Yes

He was very proud and grateful of the American people and the GI's that saved him that he wanted to be part of it. You can tell how proud he is to be an American and was prepared to die for them in the Korean War. To see what he went through in his life and at the end to have no anger or bitterness. A true inspiration and role model for any man to live by. A man of honour and very few who are like him.
