In loving memory of my Uncle Joseph Cooke, killed in action Oct. 16, 1944 while serving with the Essex Scottish Regiment of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division.
Joe was killed in the Battle of Woensdrecht. Of all the Canadian Infantry Regiments, the Essex Scottish suffered the highest number of killed in action. He now rests in the Canadian War Cemetery at Bergen-op-Zoom. Rest In Peace.
