Oberfeldwebel Alfred Weber - IR 460

Wanted to post this out there for two reasons. First, to show off () and second to see what this would be worth in case I needed to do anything special with it (insurance, etc...).

Also, can anyone give me good information (or point me in the right direction) for info/history of IR 460??

Anyway, I got these items from Oberfeldwebel Weber's son about 10-12 years ago. Thought you might like to see them.

Please note this is the letter I received with this from the son. The blacked out line is in the picture, not the letter and refers to a congratulatory telegram (I think) for his promotion.

More pictures from the photo album. I particularly like the picture of the soldier sitting on the roadside marker. Note the bottom town name!

Lastly, because he wanted to open a coffee shop in 1936 he had to prove his heritage. Here is the original Nachweis Der Arischen Abstammung and Auszug aus dem Familien Register. These proved his Aryan Descent.

          Nice.

Just surprised however that a son would so easily let his Father's
war history pass out of the family. Such a shame but glad someone
          whom appreciates it has ownership.

Still wonder what or why the son let it go?

Back when I got this grouping, I was in college. My parents were living in Germany for my father's job and I would spend my summers there. My mother got to know the son's wife (who was Irish) through a German/English group my mom joined. I got to know the son and his wife and they learned of my interest in WWII. As the son had no other family and no kids of his own, he gave all of this to me. We've since lost touch (and now that I think about it I got these closer to 18 years ago ) but have always held onto these.
