Kim Deeter was from Celina, Ohio and was the son of a WW2 B-24 pilot, 1LT David Deeter, Sr. who was shot down and held prisoner by the Germans.
Kim was drafted in 1967 and was assigned to C Company, 1/18th Infantry, 1st INF DIV. He was killed in action on 19APR68 in Phuoc Long Province, South Vietnam by a Claymore mine captured and employed by the Viet Cong. He was 20 years old. He was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, ARCOM, and several Vietnamese medals.
