Der kleine norweger is dead. He died 1st. of july at age 85.
He joined the Waffen-SS Rgt.Nordland in january 1941 and did the recrut training first in Senheim and later in Graz. The first cuffband they got was; Der Führer and later they received the Nordland cufftitle.
The name;Kleine norweger was given to him by Herbert Gille at the russian front while he was standing guard and Gille looked at him and told his adjutant to give the kleine norweger extra ration food since he thought he was so small.
In early 1943 he joined the Germanische SS Norge where he later at Kongsvinger was given the Germanische Leistungsrune in silver.
I had the honour of knowing him and he joined me on a trip to germany many years ago and told me very much interesting things. The last few years he had problems with kols cause to his smoking and I was talking with him only 3 days before he past away. R.I.P. Jens
