    Is correct!
I die one day and have no children. What happens to the albums?
I sell them to a collector and make it a joy.
Or should I throw the albums in the trash?

    Sorry for my bad English.

      Tief,

No need to apologize for your English, it's fine
And I understand where you are comming from, but I cannot give you a price.
Simply because I don't have a clue regarding the value.
But I would sell it to a collector instead of the trashcan.

      Take care,

      Emiel

Are there not any War Museums that would be happy to have them?

These albums are YOUR history and every effort should be made to
keep them in the family even if you have no children. Surely
you have cousins etc. that would be happy to have them?

Is there not an Totenkopfdivision Veteran association?
Perhaps they would have an suggestion?

Am not against collectors but eventually you see albums broken up
and photos sold individually. Its always a shame to see this.

        Best

            Hello Annelie,

This is a good idea. A war museum takes the album provides.

Destroy the albums and selling the pictures individually would be a shame and I had tears in my eyes...

I tried to find in vain a buyer. Bad economic situation.

I will inform me and handed over to the estate of Grandpa a museum.

You were a great help, thank you...

Please be careful when doing this. Museums are under no obligation to keep them intact nor to display them. Certainly you can find a collector here that wants them?

In Staraya Russa (Russia) is a state War museum with an exhibition, which tells about the battles just in the area where fighting your grandfather (Staraya Russa, Demyansk). Nowadays the museum tells not only of Russian, but also about the German soldiers. It would be wonderful if you would agree to sell your photos in this museum. We could put them there, along with a story about your grandfather (if you agree to prepare his brief biography)

All well and good but I am sure the soviet union had similar laws and how much was sold through the backdoor? Or take some museums in other countries such as france, belgium, canada etc...I suppose all these countries have laws like that....And this is only to name a few places were original stuff got sold to collectors.

My advice would be to find a buyer that pays a fair price, which I think won't be that difficult, may it be a museum or a collector. I would however not advice you to hand it over to any museum or "institution" for a clammy handshake.

I have really no clue about photo album values but from what I have seen I think the album can be worth in the area of 2500-3500 Euros IMO.

                      Good luck.

I personally know the War museum staff in Staraya Russa. These people are not able to make what you wrote about. At one time they were criticized in Russia for placing materials regarding that the Germans were the same soldiers, as well as Russian. Memory of people who have gone through this terrible war is very important for them.
I think that most collectors are interested in photos but not in memory of the people photographed.

oh man, their have given me much information. I must check everything, and would then accept a good offer.

I will continue to be the grandfather receive reminders and tell everyone who sees the photos of the horrors of war. For this I am already working on a book about his way in the war.

Thanks for sharing this incredible album, and telling your grandpa´ history. I´m glad he survived the war!
Did he ever mention the Frikorps Danmark from his time in Demjansk?
And finally give the album to me instead of a museum

                              All the best from Denmark

I live in the city of Staraya Russa. 2 and 10 army cases take a great interest seriously in history.
And I have been admired by these pictures.
