I thought this might be of use to collectors with an interest in conservation, its a company called Baumgartner Fine Art Restoration who have put step by step videos on youtube :
https://baumgartnerfineartrestoration.com/
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvZ...9xgbbbdkiodPKQ
The videos focus on cleaning and restoring artworks. Some are paper glued to wood, paint canvas glued to blocks of wood and covered in varnish and so on.
Some of the methods of cleaning and restoring could help poster collectors. There is some detail in the step by step process of heat treating or scraping epoxy/varnish off the surface, coating with a heat activated adhesive, covering in rice paper, extending the canvas, removing the backing, re-fiting to archival materials and then removing the temporary cover to begin the restoration and re-framing and so on.
Here are some example videos
'Scraping, Scraping, Scraping Or A Slow Descent Into Madness. The Conservation of Mathias J. Alten'

'The Conservation of The Assassination of Archimedes Narrated Version'
