    Leather Care Products?

    Hello All,

I am new to forum . I recently inherited 2 lugers ( DWM and Mauser) and A JP Shuer & Sohn Suhl 7.65. The Mauser and the JP are in the original Holsters and seem in nice shape to me. The DWM is pretty beat up though I remember shooting it as a kid. I don't think the Mauser or JP have been shot since the end of the war.
I have searched the forums for care info, and now know the guns shouldn't be stored in their holsters, but how should the holsters be stored? Will putting leather care products on the holster damage them or their value?

    Thanks

I use Connolly hide food it does darken the leather when first applied

      Thanks for the reply ninkn.

For storing the holsters where is the best place to keep them. If they are not on display should they be wrapped up in something, or just lest out in the open?

Check out Pecard Leather Dressing, it's what I use on all my leather. It does not darken leather, if used correctly.

The trick to any of this stuff is remembering that "Less is More" - you can always apply more, but once leather is saturated, you won't be able to take it out.

As for storage, ambient temperature, out of direct heat...low humidity is a must.

        Hope this helps!

        Best, Andre
