ion advice sought for LW EM's peaked cap

I've owned the illustrated LW EM's peaked cap for the last 15 yrs, and, as can be seen, the interior is in good condition, but the exterior has suffered from light mothing, whilst one end of the peak has become detached from the brow band.

The mothing appears to have had some relatively successful restoration work undertaken in the distant past, and I've tried to illustrate this.

    My questions are:

    1) How best to re-attach the peak, and which adhesive would be best to use ?

    2) In respect of the repair work to the top of the cap; this appears to have been relatively successful. Has anybody tried undertaking this, and what's the best technique to use, whilst not interfering with the lining of the cap ?

I look forward to receiving any advice.

Unfortunately good old Photobucket have now removed my pics, but am still wondering what sort of adhesive would be best to re-attach the peak of my LW peaked cap where it has become detached from the fabric at one end. Any suggestions gratefully received, as I don't want to start risking experiments with different glues.
