    Dirty ribbon, help

    Hey

I'm after some advise on how to go about restoring this Social Welfare ribbon. Is there a safe way to removing the dirt?
    Thanks

    Regards
    Lewis

      Leave it alone, it's old.

        ^^ What he said.

They look FAR better without the glaring white that makes you reach for your blacklight.

              Hi Lewis

I agree with others: dont mess with it! To be honest, judging from your picture, your ribbon looks more wrinkled than dirty... Luckily its unmounted and what I usually do in such cases is put the ribbon between 2 pieces of glass with a good weight on it and forget about it for a few months for it to "flatten out". Then, if still bothers you as much after its flat, remount it to the medal ring making sure to put the dirty side facing inwards (inside)

              Take care

The ribbon is wrinkled because it has been used to hold a medal. Leave as is

                  your ribbon LOOKS WORN USED

Leave it as it is looks genuine and little wear shows it aged ribbon far better then new rubbish replacement

That's from the ring. My old Ostmedall was like that. The best thing you can do is use a qtip and a tiny bit of renwax to clean the inside of the ring. Be sure the wax is all nice and rubbed off before putting the ribbon back on or you will get it on the ribbon and it'll have that wax residue there instead of the dirt : )
