    lint roller waffenrock

i just realized the cleaning lady has been emptying the cat litter about six feet from where i have a waffenrock in a partially open display case!

is there anything i should know about using one of those disposable lint rollers to go over the portions of the tunic that were most exposed?

    thx

Instead, use a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment. Work very slowly and with very light contact to the fabric. Avoid contact with delicate, bullion insignia.

    Best regards,

Or a vacuum cleaner hose attachment with a piece of nylon stocking across the opening. The problem is most vacuums don't have adjustable suction settings, and you don't want a lot of stress put on the fabric (or to have the tunic sucked into the hose). Since it's a Waffenrock, the fabric should be pretty sturdy, though, so you likely won't have a problem if you take your time with it. If any buttons or insignia are loose, or if it has bullion insignia, it would be best not to vacuum those areas.

Another approach is to get a clean piece of screen door/window screen material and lay that over the area you wish to vacuum. Once done with the area on the tunic, you can transfer to another area and continue on until it is free of dust. A roll of screen material will cost about $10.00 at the hardware store and you can cut it to a manageable size. Make sure the vacuum attachment is clean as well as not to introduce other contaminants to the tunic.

DrCMH is right--the screen method laying on the cloth would be a better idea and much easier on the fabric. You'd only have to make sure the ends of the screen don't catch the fabric.
