    Visor care

periodically I put my clothing items in a plastic bag in the freezer to kill anything that may be there,
Is it O k to do this with visor caps , considering the leather sweatband, will the freezing affect the leather?

I have done this to one of my visors. Left the visor in the freezer for 48 hours. Just to be cautious, I placed some of those desiccate packets around the visor sweatband and put it in a clean cotton pillowcase. Then into a large plastic ziplock. After the freezing period I removed it all and let it air dry. Be on the lookout for any condensation crystals that might have formed around bullion and wipe those off.

Interesting...one ought to probably also watch for condensation /ice crystals on/or near the visor brim and inside the inner band.

I suppose most collectors now shy from "mothballs" with the claimed negative effects on some fabric/textiles as well as the 100 % confirmed negative effects on human health to skin, respiratory and nervous systems.
