How to quicky fade a (replica) tropical tunic?

Hello,I couldn't figure out a good place to post this.I have a replica of a tropical tunic 1st pattern but it is a dark OD color.I want it to fade quickly without ruining it.What methods should I do to give it a good North African fade?

    Thanks you!

Wear it while you are welding!

I go through many shirts that way..Of course, you'd get holes in it from the sparks..Hmmm..

Do what the dealers do, hang it in a sunny window, turn it once a week, by the end of the summer its spent a year in the desert.....

Perhaps a sun tanning lamp would work.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I recall reading somewhere that DAK soldiers washed their caps and uniforms in Skin decontamination agents (Hautengiftungsmittel-Losantin-Tabletten) to give it that faded Afrika look.

Hang it outside all summer and rotate it?

Wear it a day at the beach. If running around at the beach with AK stuff won't do, salt water and sun drying. It's how I've faded many of my clothes. Gives my $35 Levis that $350 hipster look. J/k, I would never look like a hipster!

I am currently sun bleaching a set of repro LW blue HBT trousers ( to be sacraficed/cut up)
as I need the material to have pockets created for a real HBT blue LW 4 pocket tunic ( well used/faded) , which I got cheap because 1chest and 1 skirt pocket were missing.
Seems to be working well this method...now 3weeks in the sun with an occasional dipping in the pool.

Do you wear it when you dip in the pool. J

I agree that salt water and sun bleaching works best.
