    Missing scabbard screws

What is the consensus of this knowledgeable group on attempting to replace missing scabbard screws with period replacements? Thx

On any particular type of blade? Bayonet. .. dagger?

I don't see a problem as long as if the item is sold the buyer is informed of the "restoration".

Thanks. I have a 1st pattern Luftwaffe dagger with personalized scabbard. Both in very nice shape with the exception the scabbard is missing 3 of the screws for some reason. Its been in the family for at least 40 years that I know of and was passed to me by my great uncle when I returned from Iraq.

Agree with Brain. As long as original ones can be used in the replacement.

There's a website that sells original scabbard screws along with other dagger parts. I believe they're a $1 each. I've bought other parts from the seller. PM me for a link.

Upon further examination, I believe the runner is missing, so even if I find the correct screws, I have nothing to thread into. The upper scabbard screws thread into the runner, correct?
