    What do you think?

Hi Guys! This is my medal display.. do you think it's ok or should I put some anti moisture bags? The case is almost sealed.

    Any opinion is welcome!

    Regards,
    Sepp.

Yes, moisture silica gel packs are necessary for moisture control. I’m concern that your ensemble is not archival. Concerned about out gassing from your choice of materials. <O</O

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. I've removed the plastic box that had the EKII in it, and added 4 silica gel packs on it. I'm sure that would be more that ok, right?

      Regards,
      Sepp.

In fact, that's not how it should be.
"Archival" means there is absolutely no, or at least "there is a very little" potential (!) influence of choosen materials to the items we're trying to protect.

In your case, all I can say, as I do not know the types of materials used, is that I think the wood varnish is not "archival", and I am very suspitious about the cloth on which all those items are sitting. Instead of that cloth I would suggest use some non-acid cardboard or some archival cloth.

Use "search" option here, you'll find loads of good advices.

It's, all in all, not about degradation of those items in a day or month, but we should do whatever possible to let the artifacts from the past outlive not only us, but also those which will come after us.

They are not producing the originals any more, so take care for your nice items ;-)
