    renovating a LW 4-packet jacket.

    Hello All,

I have a question for you all; as I am restoring a LW 4-pocket tunic, and needs to reapply the shoulderboards, I want to do this correct from the inside. Ofcourse I can open the lining (it was opened before to remove the boards), but does anyone have some sketches or pictures or period description of how to do this..?..

would be of GREAT help and highly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Hans Kristian

Hum restoring cloths is not that easy,i would go to a master tailor and ask to fix this, with period yarn in same style. Mostly this was done by hand if promoted ofc it could be done with a sewing maschine.

Thanks for the input; I have all the period thread for this job, but I cannot find a tailor who can do this job. I asked at several museums, but noone knew who would be right for this type of jobs.
But my old mom knows about this, she was born in 1928, grew up in not too wealthy conditions, they repaired clothes in many ways, she was a seamstress from 1947, and even today she still is very capable with needle and thread and sewing machine. So, I am learning, and she is teaching..

      cheers,
      Hans Kristian
