    Political Dagger Hanger Repair

Anyone know where to get a reasonable facsimile thread for repairing SS or SA short hangers ? Im talking about repairing the little strap retainer loop that often times the thread rots away on these hangers . Thanks

    Hello Craig,
You can purchase linen thread from Tandy Leather Goods or a similar store. Stain it with tea and it will fit right in.
    Hope this helps,
    Ralph.

          Hi Craig,
          You are most welcome.
The thread I use for my leather work is very close to the same size. You may even be able to buy more than one size, I am not sure.
You could also try contacting a saddle shop, but make sure you get linen.
          Good luck,
          Ralph.

I just checked the mfg. web site . Is it the "waxed linen thread" ? Better to use the white and dye it as you suggested or brown ? Thanks guys .

              Hello Craig,
Do not buy the "waxed" thread, it will not take any kind of dye or stain. Buy the white and make yourself some strong tea, let the thread sit in it for a while, you may have to experiment a little with the amount of time.
              Ralph.
