All:
I am posting this for a friend. He has a few examples of early WWI British Cavalry bamboo lances. They also have their accompanying leather straps (white). The finish is wearing thin on the bamboo. Can anyone recommend the best way to preserve both the wood, bamboo and clean/preserve the leather. A dealer in England (where he purchased these years ago) recommended applying lacquer to the wood…but sounds harsh to me. How about RenWax? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
