    Ground dug leather conservation

    Dear experts, what would be the best way to conserve the leather on the objects attached?

    This helmet and this magazine have been dug out from the ground. As can be seen from the photos they include leather elements. My question is what would be the best way to treat the leather to prevent it from breaking.

      You would need to dry the leather very very slowly to avoid shrinking and cracking.
      I would then treat the leather with Lanolin to help preserve it.
