Removing heavy dirt from relic krimshield

    Hello,
I guess the title says it all. I have this relic krimshield and I think it would appear quite nice if I could get rid of the dirt layer. I have tried soak it in water and used a toothbrush but not much luck. Any suggestions?

IMHO, I think that the best thing to do would be to just leave it alone. It will not look much better even if you could clean it up some. You risk doing more damage to it.

I think what you are seeing there is not dirt but rust. Rust is not on the metal, it IS the metal. I don't think much improvement is possible for this piece.

I think you are correct yes, though I have seen some russians clean rusty relics using heat and lemon juice but I have my doubts
