    ¿55% humidity?

    Hello guys!

I live 500 meters from the coast, my house has a 55% of humidity, do you think I can show my medals in methacrylate Stands? Or is better to have them in a airtight bags?

I think the best option is show the medals in methacrylate stands in a display case.

    Thanks and best regards.

It may want to conduct a WAF site search on humidity. There have been plenty of postings on this topic.

If you conduct a humidity search you will find humidity ranges from 43%-60%. In most museums the temperature is 68 -70 degrees F, and the humidity is at a constant 43-45%. I have witnessed first had humidity damaging items at 46-55%. I would not recommend sealing anything in a plastic bag unless you have a silica gel pack in each of those bags. When you seal a plastic bag you are sealing in the high humidity as well. Evan an archival plastic bag poses the same problem.

I would advise to purchase a good humidity gauge and monitor the room that your items are in. If needed purchase a good dehumidifier to run in your room.
