    How To Straighten Leather

I have a cloth pouch with two leather closure straps. One is extremely curled. I was told to wet it & clamp it between two pieces of wood covered with wax paper. Any thoughts or other ideas? Thanks

Jareth, I would strongly advise you to not get any leather wet or damp. Yor run the risk of further damage, and producing mold wet rot. The best advise is not to apply any leather conditioner this to is not a good idea. Many types of condition will cause darkening and fill the leather with a chemical that can rot leather further.
I would use the clamp method dry only. It's not going to make it new again but should take out some of the crimping.

Thanks Paul. I'll try clamping it dry. Nothing to lose trying.
