    A request for information.

    Greetings,
I have read several threads here and elsewhere. There is a wonderful array of information.
    Regarding the archival for documents/photographs.
There are still some questions I have.
Upon doing searches for archival acid free storage. I come across several companies who all claim to have acid free products. I think it would be beneficial to have members here share their personal recommendations with other members like myself so as to avoid the pitfalls and perils.
I guess brand name/company manufacturer is what I am after.

    On a separate note:
I am looking at acid free matting tape, I am working on mounting photos of KM ships and then having their respective cap tally/muetzenband displayed as well. The way to secure both the tally and the photo will be to have a backing that can be archival safe but also not have direct contact with the items I am aware that 3M makes several varieties of acid free tape from plastic to cloth. My first inclination is to go with the cloth; am I correct in this assumption?

What I am hoping is a list of popular products that have been used by forum members; what worked well and what didn't. Which sellers/distribution sites were easy to work with and which to avoid.

A list of supplies that they have found helpful and perhaps a site linking where other members can purchase same/like items.

    Thank you for your time.
    Best Regards,
    JustinG

    Hello Justin,
Over the past several years I have on occasion listed companies that are in the conservation business of selling archival items. As a 3 D conservator I have use several of these companies, and so have other non conservation people.
I have in the past been advised not to list these companies. I’m not sure why, but believe some feel I maybe get free conservation things from them or a discount on me buying form them for endorsing there companies (wow I sure wish that was the case.) So I have not made recommendations since that time. If the site moderators are okay with that I will list away. Paul
