Here in the USA I use a product called Rust Aid which has a high content of Oxalic acid...It seems that Oxalic acid is the best...

Wow...What a difference of the before and after...thanks for posting...
Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group

Do you just spray it on or do you have to immerse it entirely in a bucket or something??.....mike

wow-the cleaning of the last helmet is very impressive! Maybe this is kind of hypochondriac thought but is it ok to handle helmets or any other metal relics that have been treated with oxalic acid or keep them by your bed or this rust removal thing leaves nasty chemical traces on them?

IS it the camera flash or did all these cleaned relics turn a greenish blue?

I like all the before pics sorry!

Exception is the glass and rubber of gas mask. That I would have cleaned up.

I would have just used a damp soapy cloth, then dry cloth. A mild rust remover without acid. Then some kind of treatment to stop the rust, oil?

                  Thks

Evapo-rust is the product. No acids and good results.

The remnants of the original green paint comes out a little but I think the flash adds to that colour.
