    riker mount reuse

This may be a silly question, and perhaps I'm being a little over protective of my collection, but I was wondering about your thoughts on the reuse of riker mounts. I had several IAB's in individual cases and several mismatched badges in a lager case. I was never happy with the display so I switched the IAB's into the large case and the mismatched badges each got there own case.
Is it safe to store a zinc badge in the same case were another one used to be, or will my collection spontaneously explode on me one night, or worse yet contract zinc pest?

    Regards
    Mike

No Silly questions... Should be okay. Hopefully the riker frame is not to old. The older rikers had lower grade paper for it's cardboard base. If yours is older that 5 - 7 years. I would not use it long term. Make sure that you use archival material in side the frame. Not cheap foam. or plastic dividers. Those that come with the riker frame are bad. Just threw out some at the museum I work at from 1990. These were cheap baseboard cardboard rikers not safe for museum storage.

Thanks for the reply Paul The cases are fairly new, I think the oldest one is 3 years old. I checked to make sure none of the badges I swapped cases with had zinc pest, but incase I missed something I wanted to make sure that it couldn't be passed from badge to case to badge ( I'v heard it being passed from badge to badge ). I'm in the habit of keeping silica packets in all my cases, but I just want to have all my bases covered
