    conversation of feldpost letters?

I have a question regarding how you all conservate your feldpost w. letter.

Do you keep the letter folded in the envelope, as "found".
or do you have the letter itself unfold, and in a own mylar page?

What method is the most popular and best regarding storage/conservation?
At the moment I havent unfold the letters but I have been thinking about getting mylar pockets/pages for the letters themself, and store them unfold next to the envelope. In my mind it feels like unfolding the letters would be best for many years from now? (letters to be stored in mylar, and away from sunlight)

What do you think, and how do you do? Let me know.

    thanks in advance.

From a conservation point of view. Acid free mylar pages and a acid free binder is best. http://www.archivalsuppliers.com/pro...rt_on=&sort_by=
Here's is a link to a conservation company that sell some mylar sheets, also give you ideas. This is one of several companies that carry such products.

It's best to wear either cotton or vinyl gloves to keep your fingers off the paper. Even just washed fingers has body sweat, oils and salt on them.

For letters carefully take out folded letters open up letters. Place letter on a clean surface use a very soft natural hair brush and lightly sweep over the letter. Do this on both sides of the letter. Clean off the surface that the letter is placed on for cleaning.
Doing this will remove and dust or dirt. Don't want to add this grit to the mylar pages. Store in a acidfree container. Of course away from light. Hope this helps. Paul
