photos / glue = photoalbum?

i own a TR photoalbum in good condition but the glue on the back of the photos has seemed to have dryed up and they are peeling away from the photoalbum's pages (crappy TR glue)

whats type of glue would you guys recommend?

I would not use any glue on any photographs. Instead use archival photo corners, or archival mounting tape. If you are reusing the old album pages. Your cost would about be the same between the two.

Personally I would not reglue original photo's,I don't know if you can still get the 'triangles' and just slip the corners of the photo's into .Unless some one can recommend a suitable modern glue that will not harm the photo.
The old 'paper glue' I used in the sixties as a kid would be the nearest to period glue,I don't know if you can still get it,yellow/brown looking with a rubber top to the bottle,when you squeezed it you got more on your hands than on the paper

Yes! Photo corners exist. They are made from clear mylar, brown, or black mylar. Most camera stores or frame shops carry them. Price was about $2.25 for 300. Make sure that they are archival.

pondering ancient glue's effects

---and of course, one wonders how that old TR era glue is possibly causing a slow and deadly damage of it's own.

Heck, how about WWI era glues?

even if it was totally free of latter part of 20th century's damaging qualities...one wonders what "good" glues of the past(even pure old boiled bovine bone glue, may do over an extended amount of time?

This is not even talking about the old paper pages. I have some very old German pre WWI photo album's with pages now showing the corrosive burn of what looks like acidity.
