Wel the buttons could not be a problem to refix them on.
The schoulderboard are not a problem to.
i would just use a carpetbeater and beat the dust out but not to hard.
Then brusch it out ,and take a moisty rag (""not soaking wet")and rub the whole thing to take the remaining free dust .
by then it must look a bit different.

Now about the holes you could hamper them with whole but i think they are to big and it would even looks worse.

      hope this helps a bit

        Hi, thanks for your answer.
I spoke with firm which repairs old uniforms for museum. They answered that they could repair holes in material of overcoat. They used a artistic darning from ground coats to repairs old uniforms. Do you think that this is good idea?
They use in his studio apply checked technologies well-known from over 200 years which cause that even very wears out historical object comes back to one's former magnificence.

          hello,
i cant make out because i cant speak polish ,although i collect it a bit
i would love to now a bit more about the technics to restore tunics
a could you explain how they repair those holes??

so they use fabric that resembles te tunic???
i have been an textielworker for about for 4 years
and my whole family was active in the textilebranche some years ago
thats why i like tunics and how they have been made.
To bad is a trade thats getting lost here in flanders.

Sorry to interject but why would you qualify ths man's efforts at restoration as "boring"? That very practice is commonplace in the country of origin of the very items we collect. Has been so for years. I was reading a thread about this yesterday on the forum, supported by members who know. Or is it that we just want to brush it under the carpet...
