Long Term Storage for Flags and Daggers

Alright so I will be going off to college in roughly a month and am packing my items away until I get out in a few years. I hate to say it, but I don't trust my family to take care of my collection as they don't have the same interests as I do. My first question, is what is the best way to store flags long term? I am concerned with humidity mostly as the containers will be absent of light, and won't be disturbed much. They will remain folded. Should I worry about moths?

Secondly, regarding daggers. I have a can of Ren-Wax that I plan to put a good coat on the blades for off. Same as with the flags, should I be concerned with moisture?

I thank you all for your time.

I would suggest a search on this forum. I pinned a flag storage system on the top of conservation. Don't forget Humidity is enemy #1. Apply the Ren Wax on dagger blades only. Yes moths are enemy #2. Natural scents such as lavender, and cedar is good. Stay away from old fashioned moth balls they are deadly. If you can't trust family and friends on keeping an eye on things. Sometimes storage companies have temp and humidity controlled environments Paul

Be sure to store with silicon packets.. like the ones in shoe boxes. They stop evil moisture and can be bought cheap online.

It has lasted this long, don't panic.
I used to use mothballs for a large uniform collection I had.
        They smell real bad.
I am sure something better has come up.

        Sealed and dry are keywords.
Locked up, stored away, and inaccessable, are others.
You are onto something important. NOBODY will ever treat or regard any of your stuff like you do.

This becomes more evident over time. Don't depend on anybody ever to take care of or watch over your stuff.

I learned this while in the service and college.

Just some more of the annoying facts of life that pop up as you progress through it.
