Hi Tex, I avoid the temptation to put them into empty period albums because that paper is not acid free and as time passes it tends to destroy. Also the pictures were developed with the use of acids so I usually put them in individual transparent sleeves with an unbleached acid free cardboard as backing. I then keep the pictures inside a box to protect them from UV and light in general that can cause fading and discoloration. The sleeves themselves must be certified for archival use. You can find them on ebay for few $ they come also in several sizes.

There are several archival supplies sellers over the internet this is one of the many you can google and search for more. Anyway be sure to look for acid free archival supplies
