Humidity in dagger cabinet

I dont have a strait 20 degree in my collecting room alltime.
My daggers are in a cabinet.

Could it be an idea to put in a silica package(20x7 cm)in the cabinet?For keeping humidity away?

I dont have seen any problems,but have only collected for about 1,5 yrs.

In the conservation field the humidity levels whether in a large room or cabinet. It should be between 43 - 45 %. 24/7 365 a day. Some items to use could be a dehumidifier, silica packs, silica crystals. Remember too dry can cause problems also. Paul

The care us collectors take with our collections borders on anal. Most of our pieces spent most of their time in drawers or basements since the end of the war and were no worse for wear. With that said my collection rests in a safe protected by dehumidifiers.

I had a small safe that I used a bag of silica in. Turned out that the silica did attract and hold the moisture, unfortunately it was also messy.

You might look into the possibility of a heat stick. Depending on the size of your cabinet and the amount of humidity. These are purchased at stores that sell safes. I have two good size safes that I use a small heat stick in each. The small amount of heat they produce takes care of the humidity nicely.

I agree. Using a hygrometer is the best way to monitor the humidity levels. They make some great digital types that are relatively inexpensive, as well. A hygrometer is one of the best investments you can make.
